Well, hello.
Speaker A:Hello.
Speaker A: officially the second half of: Speaker A:I am going to name this episode, or I did name this episode.
Speaker A:The Roller Coaster continues.
Speaker A: , the first half of: Speaker A:All right, so that's what we're talking about today.
Speaker A:This one's real.
Speaker A:They're all real.
Speaker A:But this one is just my journey.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:And so my journey may not be your journey, and.
Speaker A:And your journey is not my journey.
Speaker A:And I want everybody to remember that as you listen in.
Speaker A:There may be some things in this episode that you really resonate with and think, man, that sounds just like what I'm experiencing.
Speaker A:And then there may be other things that you might think, you know what?
Speaker A:I'm not feeling that at all, Michelle.
Speaker A:Like, I don't know.
Speaker A:I'm not seeing that.
Speaker A:I'm not feeling that.
Speaker A:And that is what I think is so important about sharing these type of episodes, is that it is so important.
Speaker A:I know I just said that word, but, like, it's really relevant to me to make sure that I continue to share these things.
Speaker A:And I also.
Speaker A:I want you to feel like that's not my situation.
Speaker A:Like, that's good, right?
Speaker A:Because we are all on our own path, and we are all doing business differently.
Speaker A:There are similarities, but there are things that are massively different.
Speaker A:Okay, so that's what we're talking about today.
Speaker A:Grab your favorite beverage and let's dive in.
Speaker A:Okay, so the roller coaster continues.
Speaker A:I was very honest and open in the episode about Q1 that I really thought about throwing in the towel a lot.
Speaker A:And I will be even more honest now in saying I honestly have never had a year.
Speaker A:I.
Speaker A:I'm eight years in.
Speaker A:This is my eighth year full time.
Speaker A:I have never had a year that I have wanted to quit as much as I have this year.
Speaker A:I mean, I swear on my life, I feel like every Monday, I'm like, screw this shit.
Speaker A:I'm done.
Speaker A:I'm out.
Speaker A:I'm this.
Speaker A:I'm that.
Speaker A:You know, and then it goes away.
Speaker A:But this roller coaster of emotions and feelings and all of these things, and I keep trying to reflect on it.
Speaker A:Like, every single time these feelings come up, I'm always trying to reflect on, like, why.
Speaker A:Why Is this continuing to happen to me?
Speaker A:Why is this, why are these feelings continuing to show up?
Speaker A:Why are these things continuing to fester?
Speaker A:Why can't I shake these feelings, right?
Speaker A:And there's a couple things going on.
Speaker A:One, financially, things are just not where I want them to be or where I care for them to be or where I need them to be, quite frankly, both personally and professionally.
Speaker A:It's just been a tough year financially.
Speaker A:And I think I'm economically, you know, every time I go to the grocery store, anytime I go to buy anything, I'm a little sticker shocked.
Speaker A:And I think we're all seeing it.
Speaker A:And as much as they talk about it and we hear about it and we know inflation is a thing and all the things like we know.
Speaker A:And there's nothing we can do about it, right?
Speaker A:There's absolutely nothing we can do about it except just be mindful of it.
Speaker A:But it still is one of those things where it's like, man, no matter what, I just feel like I can't get ahead.
Speaker A:And so there's some of that feeling, right?
Speaker A:But then I also think, like, well, what makes you think going, getting a job is going to solve that, right?
Speaker A:Like, my husband just got a job here locally, just a little part time gig in addition to his business.
Speaker A:And it's like very low pay, right?
Speaker A:Especially in Florida, like, the pay rates just do not come up.
Speaker A:So again, right, like, there's that feeling of it, but so there's the financial feeling that makes me think, man, this is just not worth it.
Speaker A:I don't know if I want to do this anymore.
Speaker A:But then I think really where it comes in is that I'm bored.
Speaker A:I feel like this year nothing exciting is happening, right?
Speaker A:Nothing exciting is happening for me.
Speaker A:Nothing exciting is happening for my clients.
Speaker A:Nothing exciting is happening.
Speaker A:Like in business, I don't know.
Speaker A:Like, I talk to people and it's like very status quo.
Speaker A:It's very stagnant.
Speaker A:It's like things are good.
Speaker A:So you have like two sides of the coin.
Speaker A:Like people are just like rocking and rolling.
Speaker A:They're doing good and things are stable and things are growing.
Speaker A:And then there's the people that are kind of on the struggle bus.
Speaker A:Like, there's just open and honest.
Speaker A:There's people on the struggle bus and that's okay.
Speaker A:Like we all have those seasons and then there's these others that are just kind of like riding the wave, riding the roller coaster where things aren't good, they're not bad, but they're just kind of indifferent Right.
Speaker A:And they feel a little bit stagnant.
Speaker A:And that's where I think I am very much struggling, is that I feel like I'm saying the same things.
Speaker A:I feel like I'm having the same conversations.
Speaker A:I feel.
Speaker A:Feel like I'm doing all of the same things.
Speaker A:I'm doing all of the same work, and I'm just not seeing the results, both personally or in my clients.
Speaker A:And that gets a little frustrating, right?
Speaker A:It's like, damn, this shit used to work so good.
Speaker A:Or like, why is this not working?
Speaker A:Or why isn't this going the way it used to?
Speaker A:And you're seeing this.
Speaker A:Like, I just got a debrief email from somebody today who usually has, like, a much bigger launch, and she had, like, a very quiet, small launch, still very successful, but just not what she was used to seeing.
Speaker A:Typically, she gets signups pretty quickly.
Speaker A:People jump in on her offers very quickly.
Speaker A:And this time, like, they didn't jump in until the very last minute.
Speaker A:She's like, I just didn't expect that.
Speaker A:That's just not.
Speaker A:I'm not used to this.
Speaker A:I'm not used to seeing this.
Speaker A:So I think there's just some of that, right?
Speaker A:So that's part of where the roller coaster continues is like, oh, man.
Speaker A:Like, so the.
Speaker A:The thoughts are still there.
Speaker A:The, like, do I even want to do this?
Speaker A:Whatever.
Speaker A:However, there have been some really fun things that happened in Q2.
Speaker A:And so one of the things that I have kind of come back to and one of the things that I keep reflecting on is, like, when I'm bored, what do I need to do to have fun?
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:And so I've talked about this a couple different times in various different episodes, but it's like, I'm just going to do the things that light me up.
Speaker A:I'm going to do the things that light me up.
Speaker A:I'm going to bring back the things that I know worked in the past.
Speaker A:I'm going to bring back the things that bring me joy.
Speaker A:Because when I am in a place of fun and joy and happiness, I can promote them better.
Speaker A:I can talk about them better.
Speaker A:My energy is better.
Speaker A:And we all know that, like, confidence and energy play a massive role in selling and sales, right?
Speaker A:So, as you know, I launched Back Pocket Insights, which I gotta be honest with you guys, like, why haven't you jumped in on that?
Speaker A:Just being totally honest and vulnerable and open.
Speaker A:Like, I would have thought all of you listening would have jumped on that like white on freaking rice.
Speaker A:And you haven't.
Speaker A:There's been a Few people.
Speaker A:There's definitely.
Speaker A:I've got some.
Speaker A:I've got people in there.
Speaker A:So I don't want you to think like, it didn't sell at all.
Speaker A:It has and it's going well.
Speaker A:We have our first workshop coming up.
Speaker A:We're going to talk marketing.
Speaker A:What's in, what's out, what's working, you know, simplification, all the things.
Speaker A:I've got a lot of ideas for different, like, workshops and master classes that I want to teach.
Speaker A:I just want to start showing up more in there.
Speaker A:But life kind of took a turn and I'll talk about that in a minute.
Speaker A:But also, like the content that I have been recording for that has been so freaking fun.
Speaker A:And here's the best part about this content and here's the difference in that content between this podcast and like the private podcast.
Speaker A:So the Back Pocket Insights are short.
Speaker A:They're like five minutes.
Speaker A:I think the longest one is five minutes.
Speaker A:But 90% of them are actual things that are happening in real time.
Speaker A:Like real life conversations, real life situations.
Speaker A:Things that happen that I'm seeing in business that happened to me.
Speaker A:Things that I'm seeing in my clients, right?
Speaker A:Like, and I'm just hitting record and I'm recording it.
Speaker A:So they're like in the moment because I, I know it's happening if it's happening for me or it's happening for somebody else.
Speaker A:And there's action steps there with it.
Speaker A:There's a community piece where people are checking in and getting to know each other.
Speaker A:So anyways, and it's 11 freaking dollars a month, right?
Speaker A:So if you're listening in and you haven't jumped into Back Pocket insights yet, like, you can cancel it.
Speaker A:It's $11 a month or 120 bucks for the entire year.
Speaker A:But like, go check it out.
Speaker A: the things that is working in: Speaker A:And I did some market research recently on whether or not people wanted group or community or one to one.
Speaker A:And I would have thought, I was shocked when most people said they prefer small groups.
Speaker A:Well, that's a small group.
Speaker A:Okay, so there you have it.
Speaker A:But anyways, that's fun.
Speaker A:I don't care whether you join or not.
Speaker A:I'm still having fun with it.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:But it's one of those things, like, I just wanted.
Speaker A:It felt like all of it filled a huge void for me.
Speaker A:It filled the void of being able to create content in the way that I love to create content, which is that real time story based, very conversational.
Speaker A:It Filled the void of feeling like I would love having a community that I can hang out in and share and teach and teach all my master classes and workshops and all of those things because I love to teach.
Speaker A:And it's just like a low ticket offer that is fun, right?
Speaker A:It's something that I can do for fun and is also highly beneficial to everybody that's there, right?
Speaker A:Like the content is very, very high value.
Speaker A:So anyways, that's one thing.
Speaker A:The other thing that I did is that I saw a trend.
Speaker A:You know that I am big on reflection and you know that I am big on looking at your data and understanding what is happening and just being very mindful of the people in your business and the things that they are saying, the things that they are doing, the actions that they are taking.
Speaker A:And so I found that I had a small group of people that were very interested in working with me, but the Focus Visionary wasn't really a good fit for them.
Speaker A:And so I launched the Summer Sprint.
Speaker A:I've talked about that a little bit on the podcast as well.
Speaker A:It's a four month program, low lift, it's really heavily focused on offers, leads and sales.
Speaker A:That's going really well.
Speaker A:I'm having fun with that.
Speaker A:It's something I will likely launch again in the fall and to carry through the end of the year.
Speaker A:So I'm, I'm feeling good about that.
Speaker A:But again, it was like, do I want to do this?
Speaker A:Am I cheating on myself?
Speaker A:Because I promised myself I'd only talk about the Focus Visionary, you know, whatever.
Speaker A:I did my 40th birthday month, that was really fun too.
Speaker A:Again, sales weren't what I expected, but I did get enough sales to cover all the expense that I put into the promotion of that.
Speaker A:So again, huge win and I did get a couple of new clients from that and also a new offer or an in addition offer that I'm going to keep around.
Speaker A:So one of the things that I did is as part of my birthday specials was that anybody that joined the FEA program got 40 days of one to one support with me.
Speaker A:And what I found is that that is making a massive difference in people's results in the program is having that hybrid of group plus one to one.
Speaker A:And it's working so well that I updated the Focus Visionary program to not just be a group program only like for those that want that hybrid, they can have that hybrid as well.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:So there's that option.
Speaker A:So again, like there has been a lot of change and if that's what you're Hearing it's like, man, Michelle, you made a ton of freaking changes.
Speaker A: I did because I: Speaker A:You have to just kind of see what is working and what isn't.
Speaker A:And also too, again, because I wanted to just have fun.
Speaker A:If I didn't do something that was fun, I was going to quit.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:So maybe it makes sense, maybe it doesn't.
Speaker A:But I really just needed to do the things that felt good to me and so that's what I did.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:And so anyway, those are the things that went really, really well.
Speaker A:And yes, they all are new and it feels like, wow, that's a lot to promote.
Speaker A:But here's the thing, they're all done now, they're all created.
Speaker A:And that feels really good.
Speaker A:Moving into the second half of the year because it's like I've got this buffet of offers, I've got this like selection where people, I'm not actively promoting all of them.
Speaker A:Many of them are hidden.
Speaker A:You're not going to find them on my website.
Speaker A:But when I talk to people and I have conversations, I can mention these different things and point them in those directions.
Speaker A:And so that was really, really fun.
Speaker A:A couple of other really big wins I would say is I had the Focus Visionary is a six month program and one of my goals always is client retention.
Speaker A:I feel very strongly about that.
Speaker A:I'm going to record another podcast episode about retention, so I'll dive a little bit deeper into this in that upcoming episode.
Speaker A:But I think anytime you can retain a client versus having to find a new one, that's much easier and better for everybody, right?
Speaker A:And because the Focus Visionary is a program that you kind of learn the framework, right?
Speaker A:If you want to go back and understand the framework, there's an episode, I'll link it in the show notes.
Speaker A:But it's this constant state of planning and strategic thought and reflection and seeing what's working and what's not working.
Speaker A:And so one of the things that's very important to me is that I don't like when people feel like they have to program hot.
Speaker A:Because I know for myself when you hop from one program to another, then you.
Speaker A:There's a gap and every coach has a different way of doing things.
Speaker A:So I was very much looking for a way to retain the clients that go through the six months in the Focus Visionary so that they feel supported and where it felt like a no brainer offer.
Speaker A:So I created that and I, I'm gonna run the Numbers, but I'm think I am running Approximately around a 60 or 80% retention rate.
Speaker A:Somewhere in between there 60 to 70% retention rate.
Speaker A:So that feels really good, right?
Speaker A:And you'll notice I'm pointing out all of these wins and I'm pointing out all of the things that go that are going right.
Speaker A:Because especially at the end of the half of year before jumping into the next year, I think it's really important to focus on what's going right?
Speaker A:Because again, we all know that the world is a bit of a dumpster fire.
Speaker A:There's a lot of things with outside of our control right now.
Speaker A:And there's all the days that I have that I want to quit, right?
Speaker A:And I could sit here and focus on all of the reasons and all of the things that have happened and all of the days that I have felt like enough is enough, fuck this, I'm done.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:Excuse my mouth if you don't like it, but you know, I've felt that way.
Speaker A:I've really felt that way a lot this year and, and I could focus on that, but at the end of the day it's not going to move me forward.
Speaker A:Those days are not the days that propel me forward.
Speaker A:The only way they propel me forward is if I take notice of where the feelings are coming from, what is causing me to feel that way, right?
Speaker A:And so by doing that and having conversations and luckily I have a amazing husband who listens to my rants and listens to my, like, I think I should cry it.
Speaker A:And he, you know, he's always been, honestly, if I didn't have him, I probably would have.
Speaker A:But he's also been the one saying like, why and what are you going to do if you, if you quit?
Speaker A:Where are you going to go?
Speaker A:What are you going to do?
Speaker A:Why would you throw this all away?
Speaker A:Your clients love you.
Speaker A:You know, you need, this is your passion, this is what you're good at.
Speaker A:Like, so you need that hype squad.
Speaker A:Okay?
Speaker A:But here's the other thing I will tell you.
Speaker A:It's.
Speaker A:I mean it's a win, but it's for a lot of people it would look like a negative is I started babysitting again.
Speaker A:You all know that I have been a nanny.
Speaker A:I have done this on and off.
Speaker A:My friend who I have nannied her two kids and the youngest one went into like a little daycare program but she works nights.
Speaker A:She works until about 7, 8 o' clock at night.
Speaker A:And so she was taking her him to work with her, but he's a little hellian.
Speaker A:He's a two year old little boy that's just crazy, crazy little wild child.
Speaker A:And it was getting to be too much.
Speaker A:And she called me and you know, literally the day before I said to my husband, maybe I need to find a new babysitting job.
Speaker A:Maybe I just need to pick up another babysitting job to fill in the gaps.
Speaker A:And then she called me and was like, michelle, would you be willing to take him a couple nights a week?
Speaker A:And so like it all worked out and it's okay, right?
Speaker A:It's okay.
Speaker A:And those things.
Speaker A:And so for some people it's like, damn, Michelle, eight years in and you're still having to take a part time job.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah, I am, I am.
Speaker A:And I'm not ashamed of it.
Speaker A:There's a part of me that feels a little bit like, wow, I can't believe I'm in this position.
Speaker A:But I've also had a lot of conversations with other people who are eight years in who are in the same boat.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:So don't believe all the sunshine and rainbows out there.
Speaker A:For those that are living their sunshine and rainbow life.
Speaker A:I envy that a little bit.
Speaker A:I'm a little bit jelly.
Speaker A:Not gonna lie.
Speaker A:There is some feelings of jealousy.
Speaker A:There's some feelings of like, damn, what am I doing wrong?
Speaker A:I've had a of those moments of like really shaming myself of.
Speaker A:I'm eight years into this and wow, this is what I have to show for this.
Speaker A:But life is life and there's just been a lot that has gone on.
Speaker A:Another huge thing that I have done is really focus on myself and really learning about myself.
Speaker A:I've learned a lot about my human design.
Speaker A:I've been working a lot with an astrologer.
Speaker A:I actually just signed up for some additional sessions with the astrologer, like from a soul journey perspective.
Speaker A:And one of the things that really was very important, two things that came up for me in human design is one is I have this freak to genius line.
Speaker A:I don't know if any of you are into human design and you have this.
Speaker A:But if you ever feel misunderstood, there's this like freak to genius line in your human design that basically like some people are going to hear what you have to say and think you're a freak and other people are going to hear what you say and think you are a genius.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:And so I've actually started to embrace that and started creating a little bit more polarizing content.
Speaker A:Content.
Speaker A:Because I understand that like not everybody's gonna vibe with What I have to say, but that was the other really big win for me in the second half or in the second quarter is like just embracing that freak to genius line and stop trying to create content that pleases everybody and create the content that is who I am as a role model.
Speaker A:And what feels relevant, like, feels super authentic to me and feels like the things that I would say, like, I want my content to on that you read on social to be the exact content you're getting in zoom.
Speaker A:The same tone of voice you're hearing on this podcast, right?
Speaker A:And so I just decided, like, I'm not a freaking content creator.
Speaker A:I don't want to be a content creator.
Speaker A:I'm not trying to be an influencer.
Speaker A:I've never built my business through attraction marketing.
Speaker A:I'm going to continue to create the freaking content that I want to create.
Speaker A:And if people think I'm a freak because of it, then so be it.
Speaker A:That's just who.
Speaker A:You know what I mean?
Speaker A:That's on them, not me.
Speaker A:And the other thing that's been very informative to me from a human design perspective is that I do not have a defined heart center or undefined.
Speaker A:I don't remember.
Speaker A:I'd have to look it up.
Speaker A:But basically, I'm not motivated by money.
Speaker A:And so that really has been very, very insightful to me as to why here I am eight years later and having like, this financial year that I'm like, what the hell is going on?
Speaker A:And a lot of it is.
Speaker A:And it's very true, I am not motivated by money, but I am motivated by the things that money allows.
Speaker A:And so there is a deep internal struggle here of, like, wanting to give all of my time, energy and resources and knowledge away for free and meeting people where they're at and lowering my prices and making sure things are affordable.
Speaker A:Because that's what's important to me, is making sure nobody is doing this journey alone.
Speaker A:Which, again, hence why I created Backpack insights, because it's 11 and I want you guys to not feel alone.
Speaker A:I want you guys to feel supported, right?
Speaker A:But, like, I have to find the balance between, like, being motivated by money because money is what drives success, which drives the freedom, which drives the things that I desire, which drives the impact and the ability to give back with also, like.
Speaker A:But not being driven by money, right?
Speaker A:So that is something I am very much internally struggling with right now and trying to figure out.
Speaker A:So, anyways, as I titled this episode, the Roller Coaster Continues.
Speaker A:And I for Q3 and Q4, my focus is on not Doing anything new and just promoting the focus Visionary with the hybrid option of one to one.
Speaker A:I've got Back Pocket insights and I'm doing a lot more for visibility, a lot more speaking.
Speaker A:I'm sponsoring an event here in the Winter Garden area, which is way outside of my comfort zone.
Speaker A:I may attend the SBDC event here locally.
Speaker A:So really doing some things that are a little bit outside of the online space because I do think that there are some very, very successful businesses and business owners that are not in the online space.
Speaker A:And I think we could all use a little bit of a break or just a diversification from the online space because it is so up and down, it is so cyclical.
Speaker A:It's very much like that way.
Speaker A:And so diversifying, doing more podcast guesting, doing some more guest speaking, applying for ask me anything expert panel type things.
Speaker A:Just doing a lot more focus on visibility because I know that those things will grow my email list, they will build authority and that is where I like to show up.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:Growing the podcast is another huge one.
Speaker A:So if you love this podcast, please share it, please share it, share it with a friend, review it, give it five stars.
Speaker A:You know, all of those things help significantly for visibility.
Speaker A: on the roller coaster that is: Speaker A:We truly are riding it together.
Speaker A:2025 has had some high highs, it's had some low lows.
Speaker A:And I don't expect that to change.
Speaker A:I would love to sit here and tell you that I expect it to change.
Speaker A:I don't, I don't expect it to change.
Speaker A: w if I expect it to change in: Speaker A:So what you need to do is focus on the things that bring you joy.
Speaker A:You need to focus on the things that you find fun.
Speaker A:You need to focus on the things that put you in a place of confidence and also don't be afraid to try some things that are new.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:Like getting out there and getting a little bit more visible.
Speaker A:Oh, the other thing real quick that I decided to bring back was my 4 on 4 coffee chats.
Speaker A:I did a ton of these in Covid times where it's like me and you and two other people.
Speaker A:So it's a like a little mini networking but like a one to one.
Speaker A:It's a hybrid of a networking group and a one to one coffee chat.
Speaker A:Had a baby and four on four coffee chats were born.
Speaker A:They I had a friend or a client that I told to do this.
Speaker A:She's been having a blast with it and I was like, why does she get to have all the fun?
Speaker A:And you know, like, why am I not doing this for myself?
Speaker A:So I'm going to drop that link too in the show notes if you want to network and if you want to, if you've been listening to this podcast and we have not met, please get in on the four on four coffee chats.
Speaker A:Okay, so I know this one was a little bit all about me.
Speaker A:I don't love to do these episodes because I want everything to be all about you.
Speaker A:But I think there's a lot of lessons when we share our personal journeys.
Speaker A:And when I shared my Q1 journey, I got a ton of feedback on it.
Speaker A:So I'm going to continue to do that and just know that I love you, I believe in you, I hear you, I see you, and we are on this roller coaster together.
Speaker A:Okay, I'll talk to you soon.
Speaker A:Thanks so much for listening today, but remember, now it's time to take action.
Speaker A:My goal is to get you results.
Speaker A:So what is one action you can commit to taking this week?
Speaker A:Feel free to share it with me in my DMs or tag me on your socials.
Speaker A:Not sure what action to take?
Speaker A:Grab the link in the show notes and schedule a strategic power hour.
Speaker A:We can talk through it together and get you a strategic plan of action in just 60 short minutes.
Speaker A:Oh, and one last favor.
Speaker A:As with every podcast, reviews and ratings are what help us continue to show up and grow.
Speaker A:So if you wouldn't mind, please take a quick minute to leave a five star star review on Apple or Spotify and share this episode with a friend.
Speaker A:Thanks.
Speaker A:Talk soon.
