The Law of Detachment and How It Applies to Your Business

Have you ever been in a conversation with someone and you’re trying to remember the name of something, but it just won’t come to you?  You just cannot think of it to save your life. We've all been there, right?  We’ve said, “Oh my gosh, why can I not think of that person's name?”

So the conversation ends, you move about your business, and you detach from it. You start to carry on a different conversation or do something else.  Then all of a sudden that name you couldn’t think of pops into your head. This is the Law of Detachment from Deepack Chopra’s Seven Spiritual Laws of Success in action.

In my opinion, this is probably one of the biggest laws of success when it comes to your business because it is the hardest one to do. It's hard not to get wrapped up in every single action we take or to expect an immediate outcome.  And this is why detaching from the outcome is crucial to your success.

Here’s how this applies in business: Let’s say you have a great prospecting call, somebody tells you they're interested, and you send a proposal or a contract..and then crickets. You're immediately consumed to the outcome of this call.  What happens though is the more you attach to the outcome, the more pressure you put on yourself and that other person which in turns creates a negative energy around it.  So much so that there's no room for it to actually move forward.

Detaching yourself from any outcome truly does take practice.  Put yourself out there with no expectation of what it will turn into.  Stop asking yourself questions related to possible outcomes of the situation.  Go into it with no expectation, completely detached from the outcome of it, and just let it flow and keep moving forward.

Trust that things will work themselves out in due time. It is a game changer for your business. It’s not always the easiest but I can promise you, the more you do it, the more you're going to start seeing things change.  Things are just going to start flowing to you in ways you’ve never seen before.

We all want to be where things are just flowing to us in natural time.  That’s the goal, right?
